Visible Patient, or when two worlds meet: computer sciences and surgery.
- In 1994, Prof. Jacques MARESCAUX founds IRCAD*, training and research institute that trains today more than 6.000 surgeons per year in Strasbourg.
- In 1999, IRCAD creates a research and development team in computer sciences under the management of Luc SOLER. Its objective: meet the needs and requests of experts and surgeons that come for training. The team develops a new kind surgery: computer-assisted surgery.
- In 2013, Visible Patient is created to make those R&D results available to all.
*IRCAD (Research Institute against Digestive Cancer) is a non-profit association.
